Faculty and Staff Made it a Great Year
Dear Faculty and Staff,
I鈥檇 like to thank you for making this academic year a great one.
In recent days, I've attended several events with graduating seniors. In offering their parting thoughts, a common theme has persisted. Many soon-to-be grads mentioned professors by name who they noted as exceptional mentors. Several, especially those from other countries or states, explained how staff members made them feel welcome. Perhaps they haven't always told you that directly, but in sharing their sentiments, they were expressing gratitude for your dedication and service.
We started the year by welcoming the most academically talented freshman class ever to enter the University. We marked major milestones for our Strategic Plan this spring. With your feedback and participation, we launched the Master Plan and our new website design. While both will take time to fully implement, they are emblematic of our continued progress.
Because of continuing financial challenges, this process has not been easy. But our shared commitment to the University鈥檚 progress is maintaining our momentum.
Further improvements lie ahead for the entire campus community. Please continue to help one another and share your ideas. We will grow together.
In the meantime, I wish you a safe and productive summer.
